App privacy
Privacy information for the Scarebulum app, version 1.2.
Last updated: 4 October 2026
1. Who is responsible?
Klaus Neuendorf, Thaddäus-Troll-Weg 10, 72622 Nürtingen, Germany.
Privacy enquiries: contact@neuendorf.dev.
App support: support@neuendorf.dev.
2. Using Scarebulum
Scarebulum needs no user account and contains no advertising or analytics trackers. Settings, purchase status and your voice recordings are kept locally on your device. Local usage counters help the app decide when to request a rating. The developer does not receive these counters.
3. Your audio files
When you import, Scarebulum reads the audio file you select and saves a local copy with its name, duration and waveform. Your scene mixes are also stored locally. Audio files and scene mixes are not sent to us. Importing does not require microphone access.
If you select a file from a cloud service, that file provider’s privacy terms apply to its delivery. Depending on your settings, local app data may be included in iCloud or computer backups. We cannot access them.
4. Delete your sounds
You can delete your recordings and imported sounds in the Sounds tab. This removes the app’s copy; the source file and existing backups remain unchanged. Resetting a scene does not delete your own sounds.
5. Camera, AR and microphone
The camera is used when you start an AR feature and grant access. Face and room data are processed only on your device to display effects; they are not stored or transmitted. Photos and videos you capture are stored temporarily on your device. Microphone access for voice recordings or optional video audio requires your permission.
You decide whether to share an image, video or recording with another app. Only that action passes the selected content to the service you choose. Its privacy policy applies to subsequent processing. Camera and microphone permissions can be withdrawn in your device settings at any time.
6. Purchases, Apple Watch and stickers
Apple handles purchases and restoration through StoreKit. Scarebulum uses the resulting purchase status to enable Pro features; the developer does not receive your payment details. Apple’s terms and privacy policy apply to the purchase.
Sound selection and playback status are exchanged with your paired Apple Watch for remote control. Pro status is shared with the iMessage extension on your device. You choose the recipients when sending stickers.
7. Email and retention
If you email us, we use your message and contact information to answer your enquiry. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for contractual enquiries, or Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for other correspondence. Messages are deleted when no longer needed, unless a legal retention obligation applies.
The feedback email includes your app version, iOS version and device model. Nothing is sent until you tap Send.
In Settings you can voluntarily copy a diagnostic report containing app and device information, language settings, audio and Watch status, and purchase transaction IDs and dates. It contains no recordings, payment details or complete purchase receipts. Nothing is sent automatically; we receive the report only if you send it to support yourself. We use it to investigate your enquiry and delete it with the associated correspondence when it is no longer needed.
8. Your rights
Where the legal conditions apply, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing and data portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can withdraw consent for future processing without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
Contact the address above to exercise your rights. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, including the authority in Baden-Württemberg: Landesbeauftragter für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg.
9. Updates
We update this notice when the data processing described here changes.
